Subject outline
This Capstone subject utilises an integrated approach to the teaching of therapeutics and pharmacy practice. The aim is to provide the students with skills to apply their therapeutic knowledge and to problem solve and improve the health outcomes of patients. Using a mix of theory and clinical placements the subject provides experiential and practical content about pharmaceutical care. Through case scenarios and oral assessment students will explore the expanded role of the pharmacist in the delivery of optimised therapy. The therapeutics of most major disease states along with their pharmacology and pharmacy practice have been covered during the previous 3 years. This subject puts into clinical practice prior knowledge and new topics on common presenting illnesses.

Prerequisites: Must have passed all subjects from (PHA2THA, PHA3THB, PHA3THC, PHA3THD, PHA3PLP). Only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy course (SVPB or SBPM or RHP or SHPM).

Special conditions: Only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy course. To be completed in final year. Satisfactory placement report and/or manual from placement is required to pass this subject.
