This subject describes the skills and knowledge required in contributing to the care of the client with a chronic illness by performing nursing interventions that support the client's needs and assist in maintaining an optimal lifestyle. The subject provides further opportunity to either develop the skills and knowledge required by nurses to perform nursing interventions to assist the person requiring rehabilitation or to develop knowledge and skills relevant to diabetes care and self management of disease related behaviours. Taught in conjunction with other vocational nursing competencies.

01. Respond to the special health requirements of the client with chronic health or dysfunction. Develop care plans and evaluate outcomes of planned nursing care.
