Subject outline
The first focus of this subject is the development of higher level classificatory skills to a level of competency that qualifies students as entry-level clinical coders. Students gain proficiency in the application of relevant software and auditing tools. The second focus is on the health classification-financial relationship, including co-payments, the applications of Activity Based Funding and other casemix-based measures such as Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separations and related clinical coding-funding dependencies.
