Subject outline
Students will learn core knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to physiotherapy management of common neurological problems. The emphasis will be on evidence-based assessment and intervention of neurological patients across the lifespan and various health care settings. Using an enquiry-based learning approach, case examples will include, but not be limited to, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Cerebral Palsy. The World Health Organisation International Classification of Function Disability and Health will provide a framework to demonstrate the need for person centredness. Students will be taught in a blended approach, with face to face classes supported by teacher guided online activities.

Prerequisites Must have passed HBS3PAP, HBS3ANP, PTY3EHW, PTY3STM and be enrolled in one of the following courses: HZHSPP, HZHSPB - Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Physiotherapy Practice. OR Admission into HMPYP, HMPYPB - Master of Physiotherapy Practice.
