Subject outline
In this subject, students are introduced to examining food and nutrition from a sociological perspective, broadly exploring of some of the topics to be covered in greater depth throughout the subject. An interesting and provocative mix of information and exercises examining the personal, political, and global influences on food access, choice, distribution and social interpretation. During these sessions, we will be considering the personal relationship we have to food and nutrition (including the beliefs that define that relationship), as well as discussing various food and nutrition models and the understanding they offer.
