HEALTH PROMOTION PROJECT

Subject outline

In this subject, students prepare a detailed proposal for a project relevant to health promotion or undertake a small project approved by the subject coordinator. The project should focus on a topic that has the capacity to improve the health of a group or population or the health promoting capability of health services. While the project is about planning rather than implementation, a project which may subsequently be implemented is appropriate and students may find it helpful to have the realities of impelementation in mind as they develop their proposal. Students will develop skills in defining and focusing a problem for planning purposes, carrying out a literature search, choosing an appropriate approach to the problem and presenting a formal proposal for addressing the problem.
