PARAMEDIC MANAGEMENT - TRAUMA

PAR3PMT

2015

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this subject students develop an understanding of the underpinning pathophysiology relating to specific trauma conditions and the importance of integrating this theory into practice. Students combine technical skills with theoretical knowledge within the workshops and during simulation scenarios, and will extend their knowledge of systematic assessment procedures and history taking technique to apply these to the patient presenting with a traumatic condition. Students use the decision making process to assess, plan the management of and monitor patients presenting with a variety of traumatic conditions. Communication techniques appropriate to patient presentations will be identified and developed.
