NAN3NST

2015

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

In this subject students will gain an understanding of the scope and scale of international activity in the field of nanotechnology by making a one to two week visit overseas. A tailored program will be developed each time the subject is offered based around available opportunities for visits to international exhibitions, scientific agencies, government agencies and educational institutions. Students will learn about professional business conduct and etiquette overseas, and develop skills co-operating as a group during the study tour. Students will develop an understanding of cultural issues and cultural diversity in the study tour country through the creation of a daily reflective journal and post-tour group presentation sharing experiences. The study tour will be offered outside of normal teaching weeks with a pre-departure session on the Melbourne campus followed by a visit to the international country, and a follow-up debriefing on return.
