Subject outline

This subject examines the historical development of the relationship between sport and the media. It looks at the commercial relationship between the two, government regulation, the production of sport media tests and crisis media management. Students will develop an understanding of the nature of the sport media nexus, learn skills to manage the media promotion and coverage of sport organisations, and receive a comprehensive introduction to the relationship between sport and the media within a sport management context.
