Subject outline

In this subject, teachers working within the VET and materials/technology curriculum are provided with appropriate skills to deal with a range of occupational health and safety issues in the VET classroom. Participants learn to identify hazards, assess health and safety risks and implement appropriate strategies and processes to deal with safety management in the classroom. Areas of study include accredited OH&S modules such as: Occupational Health and Safety Fundamentals, Hazardous Substances, Occupational Hygiene 1, Occupational Health and Safety Law, Workplace Health - Human Body, Resolution of Occupational Health and Safety Issues, Engineering Controls, Fire Safety, and Risk Management.
