Subject outline
In this subject, running throughout the entire year, students will undertake a full range of treatments for their patients. Building upon their previous clinical experience, the level of complexity will be appropriate to final-year students. Clinical experience will be gained at public dental clinics in Bendigo, Mildura, Ballarat,Ararat, Melton and Wodonga. In addition to time spent actually treating patients, students will have the opportunity to observe specialist practitioners at work, to participate in school-based preventive programs, along with assisting other students. At the end of the year, students will be required to provide evidence that they are competent and safe in the provision of care over a broad range of areas enabling them to graduate as Dental Practitioners.

- Activities:
- Students will be allocated patients from a wide range of age and background. Each patient will be subjected to a thorough examination, appropriate diagnostic tests to allow the student to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan. Students will be expected to discuss this plan with both clinical supervisors and patients or guardians.

- Activities:
- Clinical Practice - Students will undertake a variety of clinical procedures on a variety of patients throughout the year. Clinical demonstrators will oversee their approach and execution of treatment offering constructive feedback. Certain specific tasks will be set for each student to undertake to demonstrate competency with that task.Clinical Logbooks and Competency Assessment sheets will record progress

03. Manage pulp and peri-radicular disease and disorders
