Subject outline
In this subject you will gain knowledge and practical skills in advanced aspects of diagnostic audiology including assessment of vestibular function, tinnitus and central auditory function. Through lectures and class discussions, you will gain advanced knowledge of the nature of auditory processing disorder (APD), including its causes and neurological correlates, the relationship between APD and other language/cognitive factors and disorders and intervention strategies for APD. In addition, you will gain indepth knowledge about tinnitus, including the mechanisms of generation, aetiology and pathology, and assessment strategies, and the assessment of vestibular function in adults. Your learning in this subject will be assessed by examinations, lab reports and assignments.

03. Develops and applies a framework for decision-making and implementing diagnostic and treatment strategies for APD.
- Activities:

Roleplaying exercise where students will be given a number of scenarios and will work in pairs to practice preparing/instructing the client and administering APD tests. 04. Demonstrates theoretical and technical skills used for evaluation and interpretation of test protocols for assessment of vestibular function, and the principles of vestibular rehabilitation in adults.
