Subject outline

This research subject provides students with the opportunity to identify and select a research problem and investigate it independently. The essential component of the Master's Honours programme is the conduct of an intensive research project and the presentation of this research in the form of a thesis. It allows students to apply theory to the analysis of a real problem, or to explore and analyse more general issues using [authoritative] secondary sources. It also enables students to apply research procedures to illuminate a problem pertinent to the tourism industry or to the discipline, and perhaps to contribute to a greater understanding of that problem and its potential solutions.
