Subject outline

This subject follows Clinical Evaluation A, by which time it is expected that students will have entered into supervision contracts with one or more supervisees. Students are required to examine formally the practical and theoretical issues associated with the role of the clinical supervisor. Similarities, differences and overlaps with regard to counselling/psychotherapy and supervision roles are closely investigated. Issues of the professional responsibilities of supervisors are also carefully explored. In addition, following upon their reflections in Clinical Evaluation A, students are required to consider the extent to which their supervision models are congruent with the models of counselling and psychotherapy practised by their supervisees.
