This subject will provide an opportunity for raising your awareness of women's health issues, and an opportunity to understand the development of policy that directly or indirectly affects women's health. The subject gives an historical background to women's health and the shaping of policies which influence both the services offered and women's health in today's society and the use of a public health model as a basis for improving women's health. This subject introduces students to a broad range of historical and contemporary issues, which may impact on the psychological, physiological and socio-cultural aspects of women's health.
