Subject outline
An intensive teaching block will be provided to prepare students for clinical placement. In this subject: (i) oral health instruction techniques will be developed and new skills include basic periodontal instrumentation and adhesive restorations in deciduous and permanent teeth; (ii) information gathering, clinical observation techniques and treatment planning skills will be developed and applied in the clinical setting. (iii) theories of minimal intervention and clinical prevention of dental diseases will also be linked to clinical procedures; (iv) students will learn intra-oral local anaesthesia theory and practical techniques (v) Dental radiography theory and technique skills will be introduced
