Subject outline
In this subject students will study audio texts and performances which may include radio plays, advertisements and 'soundscapes', audio in museums or theare performance. Issues of production and performance will be critically related to the dramatic impact of sound and voices. Various audio genres will be explored with an emphasis on experimental forms and the relations between audio and performance art. Students will be introduced to studio recording, microphone techniques, performance and the work of professional writers and producers.
