Subject outline

In this subject students build on their theoretical and practical understanding of television production practices. In a series of participatory field exercises, class demonstrations, screenings and seminars students will explore a range of aesthetic approaches and production techniques relevant to drama and factual television programme production. Using a selection of accumulative production output from Media and Cinema studies subjects, students will be required to work to a brief in creative teams to devise, write and produce a themed review style series for potential broadcast on community television. This subject aims to produce industry ready media professionals who have practical experience dealing with ethical issues, copyright and broadcasting standards in factual television and indentifying and writing for target audiences.
