Subject outline
In this unit students will gain an understanding of the Australian legal system, its historical origins in the English common law, and the constitutional framework within which it operates. Students examine the main principles of the law of contract, the sale of goods, and negligence. Students should gain an understanding of how such laws develop through the courts and the legislatures and an appreciation that this law is a social phenomenon, reflecting social values and regulating social relations.
