Subject outline

Students will be introduced to the legal process and the institutions of Australia's legal system. There will be an emphasis on those aspects of law most relevant to small business in the Tourism and Hospitality industries. Topics include the law of contract, bailment, agency, business organisations, insurance law, employment law, torts, food, liquor and gaming laws. In addition, students will examine recent case law on the responsible service of alcohol and gaming.
