Subject outline
Students in this subject focus on the operation of existing native title, land rights and cultural heritage legislation and consider how they have created a space for negotiation over rights to land and waters between indigenous and non-indigenous stakeholders. A range of alternative dispute resolution approaches are considered. The subject concludes with a one day workshop hypothetical during which the different possible approaches to resolving a dispute will be explored.
