This subject will analyse international financial transactions from a legal and regulatory perspective, focusing on the impact of the on-going global credit crisis. The subject will begin with an introduction to the development of global financial markets and an overview of the implications of transnational regulatory efforts. From this basis, the course will analyse the major international financial transaction structures, specifically: (1) international syndicated loans; (2) international bond offerings; (3) swaps; (4) global offerings; (5) securitisation; (6) credit derivatives; and (7) project finance. Use of standardised documentation, as well as interdisciplinary and comparative materials will be made where relevant.
