Subject outline
In this unit students will examine the laws and issues which an international practitioner would be likely to encounter in India. It is a journey from a planned controlled economy towards a free market and a liberalised economy. A broad over view is essential to understanding Indian Laws and Regulations. The Constitution of India, the supreme law of the land, has a strong presence in the field of Business Law and will be discussed along with the Legal System and Dispute Resolution. Foreign Investment, Economic Zones, Taxation, Competition, Banking and Securities, Telecommunication, Outsourcing and Intellectual Property will also be considered.
