In this unit students are introduced to the theories informing the range of conflict resolution practices. Drawing on a background from social, psychological, legal and communication theory and the history of contemporary conflict resolution, the development of the range of practices now described as 'alternative' dispute resolution, or conflict resolution, are explored. A practical component will include skills, strategies and approaches from a range of theoretical bases.
