Subject outline
This subject introduces students to more complex grammatical forms and syntax in Latin, while consolidating the foundations of the language learned in LAT1001 and LAT1002. Students will also begin to read extracts of original text in Latin with guidance in class, and should build confidence in their ability to translate and understand longer passages as the semester progresses. This class will expose students to key literary texts and authors from the Roman world, developing their knowledge of a significant Mediterranean culture in antiquity.
