Subject outline

This subject provides for students in disciplines from the Humanities and Social Sciences from any campus, to undertake a structured international study tour, based in a city or series of cities where La Trobe has partner universities. Students will examine the people, economy and urban form of these cities, from their origins, development in the industrial revolution, and transformation and development to the early twenty first century. Studies will focus on critical aspects of cities; culture, literature, history, demography, migration, politics, planning - through case studies, fieldwork, research, practical exercises and site visits.
