Subject outline
In this unit students will study: health status, health policy and health service provision in the context of rural public health. The first theme examines the evidence that the health status of rural and remote Australians is different to that of their metropolitan counterparts in the second theme students examine Commonwealth and state rural health policy frameworks. The third theme builds on issues arising from health status and policy frameworks to explore this relationship to the provision of health services and the issues of best practice service provision for rural and remote Australians.
