Subject outline
In this subject, students will study capacities and limitations of the human body in relation to management principles for physically demanding work. Topics include: the human movement system and musculoskeletal capacities and limitations; human metabolic, cardiovascular and respiratory systems in relation to physically demanding work; human thermal system capacities in different thermal environments; fatigue; human auditory system in relation to workplace noise levels. Students will apply their knowledge to evaluate physically demanding work tasks and environments in relation to requirements for effective work performance and good occupational health and safety.
