Subject outline
This subject deals with the instruments and techniques of financial risk management. The starting point is an overview of risk management as a function in which business firms indulge, including a discussion of risk management products and process, the state of the underlying markets, and the relationship between risk management and the value of the firm. This is followed by a description of the procedures used to measure exposure to financial risk. The core of the unit consists of a description of the instruments that are used for financial risk management and the procedures used to execute this function.
