Subject outline
In this subject students will be: a) Introduced to the specialities of dentistry and how they interrelate to each other and general clinical practice thus describing the role and breadth of dentistry. Emphasis will be on the speciality of Periodontics including advanced instrumentation. b) Introduced to clinical practice by way of non-invasive clinical practice sessions with a focus on desired professional attributes of the clinician, development of knowledge of materials and armamentarium, infection control procedures and making of a dental record.
