Subject outline
In this subject, China Health Program students are introduced to topics that include developing budgets and accounting for expenditure in the public sector at state and federal levels; the main sectors of health and health-related public expenditure and analysis of policy issues associated with resource allocation and expenditure control; the application of economic methods for priority setting and program evaluation within the health portfolio; health issues in Commonwealth-State financial relations with reference to experience in other federal systems; and international institutions and conventions and their influence on public financing in Australia. This subject is taught in English and Mandarin.
