Subject outline
In this unit students are provided with an understanding of the principles and practice of waste management and pollution control relating to agricultural and industrial wastes, environmental audits and impact assessment. Topics covered include: types and sources of agricultural pollution; waste management in intensive animal production industries; characteristics, storage, treatment and disposal of solid and liquid wastes; concepts and philosophy of environmental audits and impact assessment, including policy, legislation and administration at national, state and local level; team case studies of environmental audits and impact assessment.
