Subject outline

This subject comprises a two-hour workshop and a one-hour seminar in topics on traditional Chinese culture and civilisation. Students gain an understanding of selected key texts of Chinese culture and civilisation, such as works of philosophy, poetry and narratives, within their historical context. Students acquire a basic understanding of traditional and modern Chinese culture and civilisation, and learn to appreciate the differences between classical and modern Chinese and culture. The subject is the continuation of CHI2/3CCT offered in first semester. It will focus more on the development of Chinese culture and civilisation in modern Chinese history.
