Subject outline

In this subject students will critically and creatively address a real life problem that focuses on the gap between business, the community and IS/IT strategies. Students will engage with the alignment of business and IS/IT strategies, including focus on IS service delivery, IS security in an Australian and global context including societal, governmental and legal imperatives. Students will identify strengths, opportunities, threats and weaknesses in IS activities and make recommendations based in IS theory and practice. Through class and group activities, guest speakers, and field trips students will have the opportunity to improve their inquiry/research skills, critical thinking and their creative problem solving skills. This subject will focus on the development of communications skills in collaborative team work resulting in both written work and oral presentations.
