Subject outline
This subject examines business information systems from the perspective of e-business. An understanding of the way in which information systems require integration with business strategies is developed. E-business and business intelligence case studies are used to facilitate understanding of e-business concepts and e-business intelligence systems. Students are provided training in the analysis and design of e-business applications on the web. The assignments are based on real world projects and may involve industry collaboration. At the conclusion of this subject students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of e-business applications, analysis and design of e-business applications, security and control of business information systems and computer networks. The subject also creates career opportunities for students (eg. e-business analyst, web designer) and broadens their skill base.
