Subject outline

The aim of this subject is to provide students with an understanding of research in management accounting. Particular emphasis is placed on the social, institutional and organisational contexts of management accounting practices. Students will be challenged to think about the nature and influence of management accounting systems in organisations and society. The aims of the subject will primarily be achieved through a weekly program of "deep" reading, analysis, and active discussion of selected published literature in management accounting and related areas.
