VPA1VCB
2014
Credit points: 15
Subject outline
In this subject students explore key themes in contemporary art, design and visual culture. These themes vary from the creation and distribution of modernist type-faces, the position that contemporary painting finds itself in and the state of the contemporary city. Students are required to engage with works in situation and theory through readings and gallery visits. Students present seminars in small groups and are asked to question their received notions surrounding the creation, production and dissemination of art and design in the 21st century.
