Subject outline
This subject aims to provide an introduction to festivals and event management. It will introduce both strategic and operational perspectives. Topics include: the nature and importance of events, the conceptualisation process, stakeholders, objectives, impacts and a triple bottom line approach to their evaluation, the role of events in tourism, destination image and reimagining place identity, reinventing events, project management, logistics and human resources issues.
