Subject outline

In this subject, students will develop the clinical and practical skills to provide a range of transtibial prostheses. Students will apply knowledge and skills in the assessment, casting, fabrications, alignment and evaluation of transtibial prostheses. Students are required to complete projects addressing the assessment, prescription, fabrication and prosthetic management of clients with transtibial amputations. Within this subject, students will apply prosthetic theory, patient assessment skills, anatomy, pathology and biomechanics relevant to transtibial prosthetic management. Students are required to demonstrate effective communication skills with clients and colleagues.
