Subject outline
The course provides a solid theoretical background in quantum mechanics and electrodynamics coupled with practical examples. The topics in quantum mechanics include matrix mechanics formalism, perturbation theory, variational method and virial theorem, and relativistic quantum mechanics. The topics in electrodynamics include potential formulation of electrodynamics, electromagnetic radiation, relativistic electrodynamics, and electromagnetic waves.
