This subject addresses La Trobe's Global Citizenship Essential. Global Citizenship is about learning to live in an interconnected world, including the social, environmental, political and economic challenges this brings.

Subject outline

This subject is aimed at experienced counselling and psychotherapy practitioners. Students taking the subject would normally be enrolled in the D Clin Science (Counselling and Psychotherapy). Students are expected to conduct a critical analysis of their own theoretical development. The challenge in this subject is twofold: to understand the links between personal experiences and how these have impacted on preferred theoretical models; and to understand the extent to which these preferences conform to or stand in tension with research-based evidence on outcomes in counselling and psychotherapy.
