In this subject, students will extend their knowledge of personal control and social support factors that influence the adjustment process following an impairment, or the development of a chronic ill-health condition. Relevant models of chronic-condition adjustment are introduced and intervention programs that aim to influence malleable aspects of personal control and/or social support are examined for their effect sizes.
