Subject outline

In this subject students apply the principles of client-centred therapy to the design and implementation of Orientation and Mobility intervention. They will develop innovative approaches to public education focussing on the needs of people with blindness/low vision. Content includes: principles of client-centred intervention; diversity of learning styles; public awareness and education; client assessment; design and evaluation of client programs. At the completion of the subject, students will be able to demonstrate a client-centred approach to assessment and program design, addressing individual learning styles. They will be equipped to conduct informative and interactive community education sessions.
