Subject outline

In this subject students will extend concepts presented in Ocular Physiology and Vision Science. Students will be introduced to concepts in microbiology and its role in ocular pathology. Using an enquiry-based learning program, students will develop an understanding of infection, inflammation, developmental, congenital, genetic, degenerative, neoplastic, toxic, traumatic and vascular disorders and the progression of these ocular conditions in terms of the changes in the normal anatomy and/or physiology of the eye. This subject will equip students to progress to the opthalmic investigation, diagnosis and management subjects.
