Subject outline

This subject provides you with knowledge and skills to undertake nursing and midwifery research. Through lectures, online activities, and workshops you will examine the history and philosophy of nursing and midwifery science, develop the skills to conduct a literature review for research purposes, explore the ethics of research and be able to apply the appropriate research design and methods to specific clinical and social issues. This will enable you to identify a nursing or midwifery issue of clinical or research importance, formulate a research question and justify the design and methods to be used. To achieve the learning outcomes of this subject you will be expected to complete a range of written, verbal and clinical assessments within the 12-week period.
