Subject outline
In this subject students will develop an introductory working knowledge of the fundamental conventions and rules for classification of diseases and health interventions using the current Australian version of the World Health Organisation's International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10-AM) and the Australia Classification for Health Interventions (ACHI). Students will begin to develop an understanding of the complexity of the classification process and will develop skills in medical record abstraction and interpretation to support application of developing health classification skills.
