Subject outline
Students explore current approaches and strategies for teaching literacy not only through 'subject English' but across the curriculum. Students are required to read a wide variety of literature to extend the experience of the literature shared in class. The essential role of assessment as a way of informing literacy teaching is explored. This subject is a prerequisite for EDU4PLN Literacy and Numeracy. In the two subjects the major issues involved in English literacy at the primary level are addressed.
