Subject outline
This subject introduces students to the developmental nature of language and literacy learning beyond the early years and develops understanding of the tensions surrounding the assessment of literacy. Students develop a practical knowledge of curriculum programs and assessment practices for each level of schooling (early primary, middle years) including: innovations in language and literacy pedagogy e.g. multiliteracies, and preparing students for the global nature of society whilst still valuing and addressing local discourses.
