Subject outline
In this subject, students are taught how to use microeconomic techniques to analyse various laws and legal principles. In particular, students will learn to distinguish between the legal incidence of a law and the economic incidence of a law. The set of topics that might be covered include issues in property law, contract law and tort law as well as punishment and the deterrence of crime, competition law, consumer protection law, intellectual property law and family law.
