Subject outline
In this subject students will begin to understand and able to apply learning and educational theories within the context of food and nutrition education. Students will apply skills in interpreting population, demographic and other food and nutrition data to describe a community and their food, health and nutritional status. Students will gain skills in developing three critical elements of community and public health nutrition: food and nutrition policy, food guides and social marketing. Finally students will gain practical skills in planning food and nutrition education with particular emphasis on translating scientific literature into end-point user-friendly, culturally appropriate written information.

Prerequisites: Must be HMDP-Master of Dietetic Practice. If the student is enrolled in HZHSDP-Bachelor of Health Science and Master of Dietetic Practice then must pass 240 credit points. All other students require subject coordinator approval and must pass DTN3FSC.
